Okay so this season we're doing several different twist ideas, but the first of which deals with the Hidden Immunity Idol.

We're going to make clues an option for everyone, BUT you can only get a clue if you agree to a punishment for your tribe. This will hinder them in the upcoming immunity challenge. Let's say it's a speed challenge, perhaps with every person who takes the clue to the hidden immunity idol, your team will start a minute later. Let's say its point-based... for every person to take a clue, your team loses a point in the challenge, etc...

We haven't decided whether this will be made public, but for as of right now, it will be done anonymously.

Now the twist to the game:

We definitely want to introduce the option for one person (first come first serve) to switch before each immunity challenge.

Now, some ideas to follow up on this we've had:

-Fast Forward - It works like it does on the Amazing Race... Only one person on each tribe can take the switch, once someone takes it it will not be offered to anyone else on the tribe, but it will be offered at each immunity challenge.

-Immunity - someone suggested giving the person individual immunity for the first council after they switch as an incentive and for the potential of one person switching every episode and making it to the merge with everyone hating them. Someone else thinks immunity is overkill and switching is a risk and incentive enough.

-3 person max - Allowing anyone the opportunity to switch with a 3-person cap on each tribe, that way we don't end up with an entire tribe being widdled down pre-merge.

Now here's another twist we could do in accompaniment:

-Both Tribes Vote - Both Tribes go to Council BEFORE the immunity challenge. The votes are sealed and not revealed. We have the immunity challenge... both tribes votes are revealed along with the votes of the winning tribe revealing someone who would have been voted off had they not one... Come the next challenge, they get the option to switch.

Lots of different ideas floating around, tell us yours, and tell us which you agree/disagree with!

I would say make it anonymous for starters, but be aware you could very quickly get into a situation where lots of people take the clue, which could cancel each other's advantage out. I can't see anyone saying 'no' to this unless their tribe is on a losing streak, they *know* an ally is doing it and will share the clue, or else they've already found the idol. It might fizzle during the tribe portion of the game.

What if it was done as a 'tribal' option? Set up a poll before each challenge and encourage discussion - if more than half the tribe opt to go for the clue, it gets posted publicly, and the tribe as a whole is punished in the challenge?

I would suggest introducing an additional HII at the merge, then with individual clues and punishments and yadda yadda - at that point it becomes critical to not allow targets win, and you'd see a lot less people going for the clue.

A lot of thought needs to be put into exactly how much of a disadvantage each punishment is to ensure a good balance too.

Just to check.. is this available to one person from each tribe per round, or just one flipper per round total?

Outside of that, I think it's an excellent twist. Yes I would grant immunity for the TC coming off of that night's challenge (whether your tribe is going or not), and yes, agree with the three person cap.

Hmm :/ I don't know about this one - it could work quite well as a surprise once-off before a mass-mutiny event, but I don't see it as a good option tied in to the ideas above.

So I was thinking more about the possibility of someone flip flopping back and forth every round up to merge and here's an idea to kinda prevent it - and also encourage the hate on someone who adopts such a strategy. Have a round at F13 or thereabouts in which no-one is offered the opportunity to flip - and then run something similar to this challenge; http://z15.invisionfree.com/5thGameEver ... t&p=812403

Scheduling would need to be wrapped around it, including having a challenge which can be dropped in the case no-one wins and you end up with a double boot round.

I love both twists. The HII should definitely be anonymous, just because it will cause more paranoia. I know for myself, as a player, the thought of someone actually taking the clue and screwing over your entire tribe would cause me to go on a witch hunt. That also can be used to help the person on the bottom in someway get revenge on the majority.

The second twist should be limited to one person only. So, you'll give them a time limit and the first person who agrees, can flip. Problems could arise from one tribe being totally screwed by the combination of both twists. However, I think the combination of the twists can help deter each other. The player taking the clues is less likely to flip, however if the majority keeps taking clues and screwing the tribe, it will result in the minority wanting to flip and forcing them to turn on each other.

So how is this gonna work exactly?

One person only or one per tribe? A once-off offer or every challenge? Immunity for the flipper for tonight's TC or nay?

Just a one time deal?
Over and over till someone takes it?
Or one person every challenge?

Interesting strategy. Will it work, Jeff?
