Temple Council #5 - Asteria

Jeff: Sorry everyone, running a bit late today. Will give you some extra time to vote if necessary.
Ted: That's okay Jeff :)
Ryan: Its your world Jeff ;)
Shawna: Voting Wednesday January 12 Day 10 -- Jeff Probst -- "He just sucks "
Shawna: oh did i say that out loud? my bad!



Jeff: So, the mighty have fallen. First of all I think it's normal for a tribe to have some losses and I'm still proud that Asteria was able to rebound after that first Tribal Council. With that being said, the loss was quite embarassing.
Jeanne, how did you feel about the almost immediate loss in the challenge and having 3 people take clues?
Jeanne: I was stunned that the clues were taken. It made sense that one clue was taken, in retrospect, but the other 2 surprised me. Oh, and that loss, sucked. It was a disaster. But, it was just one challenge, we will win again.
Jeff: Shawna, often in Stranded the people who are voted out early are the less active or involved members of the tribe. Is that still the case or is everyone pulling their weight?
Shawna: Right now everyone is pulling their weight so no one would be voted out for that reason
Jeff: So then, Shawna, I'll follow up. What do you base your decision on? Is it purely on who you think will help you get further in the game or who you think will help Asteria as a whole get further?
Shawna: Right now the focus should be on the tribe not the individual, if the tribe does well, everyone does well.
Brenda: Christy, you were the mastermind behind that abysmal challenge tactic - how much responsibility do you take for the loss, and do you fear you may pay the price tonight?
Christy: I'm worried, of course. But I think I proved my worth with other challenges. The Greek-quiz for example. I don't think I should get punished for one screw-up (which the tribe agreed to do) over people who don't contribute that much, when I always try my best.
Brenda: Which 'people' are not contributing much or trying their best?
Christy: So knew this question was coming
I think they can answer it themselves..
Brenda: Anyone afraid that Christy is referring to them?


*crickets*


Jeff: Ted, you're the obvious odd man out in this tribe, being an original Helios... Is it fair to boot you tonight for that reason?
Ted: As far as I'm concerned, I was supposed to be on Asteria, but had the misfortune of being put on a tribe with the likes of Jake and Penny. My loyalties lie with Asteria, and everybody knows that.
Brenda: Do you think Rob feels the same way from the opposite end of the spectrum?
Ted: I can't speak for Rob, and don't intend to. It's puzzling to me why anyone would go from the winning side to the losing side at such a late stage.



Brenda: Joanna, with three clues taken - do you think people are starting to feel they might need an idol?
Joanna: I guess people are getting nervous with the merge approaching about the idol which is stupid. Like we are going to lose two people after tonight, we've already lost Rob. So it's gonna be six v. five. Our lead just got decimated because of Rob and others being selfish.
Jeff: Christy, take me through the loss of Rob and how that has affected the tribe.
Christy: I still don't get why anyone would do that when we are so close to the merge. But I'm sure he had a valid reason. He was one of our best competitors, so it may affect the tribe in the next challenge - but obviously it affected the tribe as well. I think we are all confused.



Jeff: Joanna, do you trust Daniel in challenges?
Joanna: I trust Dan now that like he said, learned to keep his mouth shut. :P
Jeff: Daniel, in the first few challenges, you would constantly speak up in challenges when it wasn't exactly wanted, or without discussing it with your tribe first. What are your thoughts on that?
Daniel: Yeah I talked incessantly early on, but I've learned to shut my mouth. Rob WAS our designated trash-talker, well until he defected. The little bitch.
Brenda: Why do you think he mutinied Dan? Is he a lost cause or can you see yourself working with him in the future?
Daniel: I really don't know, Brenda. I was stunned by his betrayal, I mean we weren't THAT close by any means but he was a strong competitor. Winning this next challenge is imperative for Asteria. We gotta do this guys!



Jeanne: I feel like jumping ship is ALWAYS a mistake, if you are up in numbers. I think I am right were I am supposed to be. I suspect Rob has an idol, or else his move makes even less sense.
Brenda: Do you think Ted made a mistake?
Jeanne: At first, I was weary. But Ted has earned his place in this tribe. He has earned my trust. So, ya, I guess I jumped the gun by saying always...
Ryan: I think she meant that in the context of being on the winning tribe up in numbers to going to a tribe of smaller #`s that have been bonding together through tough TC`s. The other tribe made it clear that they wanted Ted out so he definitely didn`t make a mistake.
Brenda: So then Rob made a mistake Ryan?
Ryan: Well without knowing everything that went behind Rob`s decision its tough to say. On the surface yeah it seems like he made a mistake. I really hope we can send him to the next TC with them and find out for sure.
That said, it is awfully hard to believe Rob just showed up atthe challenge and said, ya know what eff it I`ll join the other tribe. I just don`t think he just acted on a whim. He had some kind of method behind his thinking.
Jeff: Ryan, what do you think your role is in this tribe, where do you fit in?
Ryan: I get firewood and do a lot of fishing. I think I`m a good provider and my tribe hasn`t been hungry, we eat well everyday.
You can never know exactly how others are perceiving you and where you fit in. You can`t change anything that has happened b4 challenge wise. All I can do is contribute as much as I can going forward. I`m looking forward to tomorrow`s challenge, its absolutely huge, biggest challenge yet imo.
Brenda: Joanna, does the person leaving tonight know they are?
Joanna: Nope.
Shawna: Bottom line is, if Ted lives through this council he made the right move.
Daniel: Seconded!



Brenda: Open question, is anyone feeling like maybe they should have taken the chance to jump when they could? Anyone wanna admit to feeling vulnerable tonight?
Jeanne: is tribal council done?

Jeff: Okay, now all votes are final. If anyone has a hidden immunity idol and would like to play it, now would be the time to do so.

Jeff: It's ready.
Jeff: Once the votes have been read, the decision is final and the person voted off will be asked to leave the temple council area immediately.

Ryan's Final Words

I`m sorry you have to say good bye Jeff. Where do I start? I guess first off I`ll say I`m sorry. I didn`t give you guys the best of me to start the game off. I feel like I let you and the admins down a little and myself as well. I truly couldn`t do anything about my unexpected issues that prevented me from getting started better. After that I knew I was in a bind and just never could make enough in roads w/ the others and my not being around didn`t help.
I would absolutely love another chance at this so, I would jump at the shot to play again. I would attack the game with much more vigor from the very start. I would make sure to be there from the beginning meeting and having convos and pushing alliances. I really feel like I just got to the party late and could never get past that point. I really hope I could get considered to play again 1 day because I`m just not finished with this, I got unfinished business. If given another chance I would play this game like a madman and take no prisoners.
I enjoyed the game and the enjoyment factor was only growing for me, especially with the merge looming. Oh man coulda been so much fun.

Its tough to say I made any real friends. Like I said I was a late arrival and I`m not sure I ever figured out exactly what was what. I think at least 1 person didn`t want to vote me out but, I can`t tell you for sure who that was though lol. By the same token I didn`t make any enemies in my mind anyway. A few people played me pretty good. It was a little excessive though, I mean to try and blindside someone who is on the bottom its like whats the point of that. They had the votes and could`ve just sent me packing. No need for the theatrics. But I guess it made it more fun from a spectators POV. I`m actually eager for 1 of the people that played me to get to the LL and make the picture more clear for me. I`d like to know how the timeline of my boot played out a little better. I really think I was a tool/pawn there to be used for someone and they failed to seize the opportunity so whoever that was I`d like to see it bite them in the ass lol.
I guess I didn`t learn much from the experience but, this stuff was knew to me some so I learned some things. From the start others seemed to have a better grasp on challenges like they had done this b4 in other games or something. So I learned a little of how some of that stuff works. Hopefully it`ll be something I can apply elsewhere or at another time. The first few days I didn`t realize I needed to have multi tabs(1 for challenge, 1 for tribal discussion) open for the game to better communicate with people. I was caught up on most of that and used to how everything was working by the end.

I`ll enjoy LL and probably be more active there then I was in game. I`d love to see the flash from my boot again if there is a way. Or at least see the comments they wrote to me lol.
I don`t know what else to say but I`m just not ready to go Jeff...c'mon man light my torch back up and give me another crack at this!!!
I do want to take the time too thank you for this opportunity. I truly appreciate it and that's why I feel like I let you and the others down. To Jeff and the admins reading this thanks for the effort and work you put into this. You guys do a great job and create a fun game and atmosphere for all of us, and I for one really salute you guys for a job well done;)
