Temple Council #2 - Helios

Image

Jeff: Welcome to Tribal Council.
Let's start with... Ted. Is this really the love tribe?
Ted: Yes, this is definitely the love tribe. We became united after the first challenge, and we've been coming together over all of the games, tribal strategy like our idol discussion and our general hate for Rob Cesternino. We've had a lot of time to get to know each other.
Penny: icon_wub icon_wub icon_wub
Jan: The messaging isn't working for me. That's you guys right, Probts. Not my computer?
Erin: I guess we're at TC now.
Penny: They have turned messages off Jan. <3
Jan: lol dutzy me <3
Jeff: Jan, are you as ditzy as you appear or is some of that put on?
Jan: I'm about as ditzy as you could get.

Carl: Erin- how much of a factor do you think your tribe's HII penalties were in the challenge today?
Erin: I don't think it was only about the penalties. It broke morale and the whole "love tribe" seems to be an illusion.
Carl: Was there anyone in particular that broke the illusion, or was it a group dynamic?
Erin: Whoever took the clues has an obvious disregard for tribe unity. Those two people definitely broke the illusion.
Jeff: Brian, does it cast a doubt on the people around you when you know that the tribe wanted to win the challenge yet two people are taking clues selfishly hindering the tribe? Does it make you second guess people?
Brian: Yeah, the fact that two people selfishly took the clues for sure casts doubt on people and is really frustrating. The other tribe getting that advantage limited their guessing possibilities and helped them a lot in the challenge. Otherwise, we could have won. The fact is that two people on the tribe lied, and it probably cost us the win.
Ken: I seem to be a target for some reason. If I am a suspect for taking the clue. I honestly didn't take it.
Carl: Who should the tribe be suspecting instead?
Ken: I actually came up with, what I thought was a solid plan for us not to take it because it was a general consensus that at least one of them would take the clue for their tribe.
Helen: Agreed about the people taking clues acting selfishly. We'd have had a definite shot of winning if only one person took the clue, and we'd have likely won is no one took the clue like we agreed upon before the challenge.
Jan: We had a good chance icon_weep
and Ken we agreed on that at first but then we decided we would of had a better chance if no one at all took it.
Jake: icon_rolleyes We had two good plans and we followed neither..
Ken: I think you misunderstood what I was saying. That was my plan for none of us to take it. I was the one most vocal for us not taking it at all.
Ted: It's definitely something we need to talk about as a tribe. If we're going to come together as a tribe, we need to use the idol clues as a group. We can empower the tribe with something that should have been empowering only an individual.
Jake: I was extremely pissed off that people took the clues. If we had an advantage you wouldn't need the damn idol. Now someone who may not have even taken a clue will be going home as a result.

Erin: I'd like it if we go for the whole group sharing the clues next time. We need someone trustworthy.
Brenda: Who do you trust the most here Erin?
Erin: I would trust Penny definitely. She's honest as seen by her blunt comments with Rob. Others might perceive that as being rude, I think she's just being honest. And that's worthy of my trust.
Penny: Feeling unloved by no questions from the hosts. icon_weep
Jeff: Penny, is it an advantage if you deem someone "trustworthy"? If people dubbed me the most trustworthy in the game I would totally use that to my advantage in the game.
Helen: Leave it to Probst to say what he would do if he were playing... icon_smile
Penny: I loved hearing that everybody trusts me because thats what I want to try and preach in the tribe, and we tried to do that with the Idol clues but unfortunately had two people who didnt feel the same way.
Now no one is going to fess up to taking this last clue. So we are as worse off as we can be at this point.
Jeff: Helen, do you think it was a bit of arrogance on the part of the tribe? Maybe some people felt that they would win regardless and it didn't matter if they penalized the tribe?
Helen: I don't think it was arrogance on the part of the tribe. I think it was arrogance on the part of individuals. As a tribe, we decided not to go with the plan to have one elected representative ask for the idol clue since there was a communal trust among us which has since been broken. Trust isn't arrogance. But I can't speak for the motivations of those that took the clue, since I didn't take one this time or last.

Carl: Brian- how worried about you about giving Asteria a chance to even up the numbers?
Brian: It's frustrating after the challenge, but I honestly feel confident that Helios is the stronger overall group and we have a great chance of winning the upcoming challenges. As long as we stop our tribe members from sabotaging us to get idol clues.
Erin: I think we should go with the plan the next time. Only Penny asks for the clue and she will share it with us.
Ted: I agree with this. We need to get back on track, and I think this is the way to go.
Jeff: Jake, do you think that someone could be trusted to tell the truth about the clues? What if someone was to intentionally give the tribe a different clue and keep the idol for themselves?
Jake: I think someone can be trusted. But from what I saw after the challenge everyone is not as innocent as they first appeared. But there are definitely a few people I really really trust.
Ken: I would tell you guys the clue if I got it. I think I am a very good asset to the tribe, and can devote a lot of time to the game. I thought I was friendly with everyone.

Ken: I trust Penny to take the clue.
Erin: I don't think anyone's blaming Penny for what happened. Trust is obviously the huge issue here.
Ken: Just to clarify, I meant I would trust Penny to take the clue for all of us.
Penny: I am happy to step up and accept the clues for our tribe. Im really happy that everybody trusts me to do that. icon_wub
Jan: I agree on Penny, i really hope this goes through. Look what getting a clue got us too..
Jake: I don't think we should get a clue next time, maybe if we win the next challenge we can do it after that. But I don't wanna give the other tribe an advantage..
Helen: But that's the entire point of it. The fact that we all agree to not take clues is the EXACT reason why people take clues. Because they have a personal opportunity to gain an advantage. By taking the clue and sharing it, we ensure that we only get one clue accepted, not more, because people aren't gaining anything from taking it then. That entire logic is what landed us at Temple tonight.
Jake: I definitely see where you're coming from. I agree, let's be united again, we can do this Helios <3
Erin: Seething hate for those Assturds

Brenda: Ted - what do you base your vote on tonight?
Ted: I'm basing my vote on keeping the tribe strong and hopefully getting back to that unified place we were at the end of the first challenge.
Brenda: Jake, there was a chance to get off the bottom of the Helios totem pole offered tonight, yet no-one took it. Is the person leaving tonight getting blindsided??
Jake: I honestly think we were on a high from our first win and we were so *together* no one felt on the outs and no one felt at the bottom. It really pains me to vote out anyone. I have only known them for a few days but I honestly love them all and I feel really bad right now.. :(
Brenda: Penny, how much of the weight of this loss do you carry due to your role in it?
Would the tribe be justified voting you out as a result?
Penny: I definitely feel responsible in part for the challenge. I created a thread and gave everybody a public apology as well.
I think we developed a real strong strategy for the challenge and I definitely contributed to that, unfortunately it was not allowed. Had we been able to go alphabetically then we may have won the challenge.
Hopefully thats enough for everybody to keep me. I definitely dont want to leave but I am very nervous nonetheless.
Jeff: Ken, who do you put the majority of the blame for losing the challenge on?
Ken: I htink Jan was one of the weaker links. Like you said she was a bit ditzy and kept guessing Ted ans an answer even though we all knew he was excluded.
Jeff: Jan, any thoughts on Ken's assessment of your weakness?
Jan: I understand while you will say that, but you did seem suspecious honestly. You just didn't seem as social as the rest of us.
Ken: I think I am pretty social. I may not have talked to everyone 1 on 1 but I contribute a lot to the tribe discussions.
Jake: I would agree with this. I think we are all very social, I think that's why we used to work so well. But this is just one challenge, we are getting back on the right track, so let's not get discouraged. Keep our heads up high and beat those unrightfully pompous Assterias
Jan: This is only my third day, i think were all just basing are votes on are opinions and what we have seen throughout this time.
Ken: This is all of our third day though.
Jan: Yeah it is, i think that's why it's harder for us. For the other tribe it was easier, Butch barely posted at all so they just voted him out. For us, we have all been bonding pretty well, its just based on who we think in are opinions we want off the game.

Jeff: Alright at this time, all votes are final.
If anyone has found a hidden immunity idol and would like to play it, now would be the time to do so. Good luck, I'll go tally the votes.
Penny: So we have to wait 10 minutes for the votes?
Gonna go get some food lol.
Jeff: There's still plenty to talk about, Penny.
Ted: Guys, I'm going to be honest. I just found the idol based on the theme of the game. The password was prometheus.
If anybody wants it, I can give it to them, or I can go to the other tribe next round and vote out Rob or whatever.
Ted: As far as I'm concerned, it's an idol for the tribe.
Erin: Holy shit, are you serious?
Ken: Well if the vote goes the way I think I would need it.
Brian: Oh my god. Thanks, Ted!
Jake: <3
We definitely should talk about this when we get back a lot
Erin: Why didn't you tell us that earlier, Ted?
Ted: I will post it back at the tribe board, we can discuss what to do with it after tribal.
Ted: I literally just found it a second ago. I googled Greek traitors and found the name on Yahoo answers.
Helen: Thanks for coming forward Ted! We all appreciate it, I'm sure.
Erin: Awesome, Ted! We shall discuss this later :)
Helen: Shouldn't the password still work then? lol
Jake: I know for a fact the person voted off tonight won't be someone we hate. I think we all genuinely like each other. If you are voted off today, think of it as being a threat, I don't know if that's comfort at all but I hope it is.
Penny: Wow Ted that is awesome.

*******************************************************
Jeff: Alright everyone, I do have the votes. The person voted off will be asked to leave Tribal Council immediately.

I'll read the votes.
Jeff: First vote: -- Ken -- "You're sneaky and suspicious." 1 vote Ken.
Jeff: 2nd Vote: -- Jan -- "I actually tried to save you after the challenge but now I hear you are trying to get me out."
Jeff: Third vote: -- Ted -- "Ted, you just seem a bit fishy, sorry"
Jeff: Fourth vote: -- Helen -- "You're pissing me off, and I didn't want to vote for Ken or Jan. I love them both."
(1 vote Helen, 1 vote Ted, 1 vote Jan, 1 vote Ken)
Jeff: Fifth vote: Ken "You say potato and I say potato, therefore I must send you to Loser's Lodge to learn the error of your ways. Hope you enjoyed the game. :)"
(2 votes Ken, 1 vote Helen, 1 vote Jan, 1 vote Ted)
Jeff: Sixth vote: -- Ken -- "You are legitimately the most annoying person I have come across in this game. I can't stand your constant talk of the Asteria tribe's dynamics, and to be perfectly frank, I can't stand you. I'm almost 100% certain you fancy yourself as such a strategist that you've been taking the idols for the last two rounds, and that pisses me off to no end. If you really wanted to get to know the inner workings of the Asteria tribe dynamics, you should have joined them today. You're a dolt, and you need to get off the Helios island right now. - Sincerely, Ted Rogers Jr."
(3 votes Ken, 1 vote Helen, 1 vote Jan, 1 vote Ted)
Penny: Wow these votes are all over the place.
LolTed.
Jeff: Seventh vote: -- Ken -- "I'm voting for you because everybody's doing it."
Jeff: Final Vote: -- Ken -- "I'm voting for you because everyone else is."
(5 votes Ken, 1 vote Ted, 1 vote Helen, 1 vote Jan)

Ken, the tribe has spoken.

*smuff*

Ken: If you guys think Ted just happened to find the idol, you're kidding yourselves.
Penny: Sorry Kenny. <3

Ken's Final Words

My only regret was not being more vocal about my distrust of Ted. I knew he was taking the clues, and if these people believe what he said about how he found it, they're idiots. I am hoping that Helen does not join me in losers lodge soon. I want her to do well. The only person I wont miss is Ted, quite frankly his personality is tedious, and he is the biggest snake there. I suppose I didn't learn much about myself. I already knew I was a bit of a social outcast. If we had more time to talk about how to vote I could have defended myself better.
