What just happened?
Rob left this past vote because Penny and I had been having discussions about turning on either Christy or Helen. Since he demanded I go after Helen first and I didn't see that as beneficial, I basically gave up on negotiations thinking it was a lost cause. Then Penny comes out of nowhere and tells us that he's 100% voting for Christy if Helen wins immunity. Helen wins immunity, and Helen wants to vote out Joanna thinking she's least likely to have an idol played on. Penny meanwhile thinks, if anything, Rob will give the idol to Christy but that if Rob's being honest, we can probably send him home because he thinks he's safe. We don't agree on a target by tribal council. So it comes down to me, and I say we just vote for Rob because Penny doesn't seem willing to compromise, Helen does, and I DO NOT want to leave this game by stupidly having the Helios votes split. I didn't think it would work, but largely due to Penny, Rob swapped to voting for Christy and sent himself home.
What does this mean for your endgame plans?
If I want to win, Christy and Helen absolutely need to be the next two players out of the game. However, I feel like Penny is no longer the goat that I once thought she was. She just won her game rivalry with Rob and sent him home! The jury's going to love her because even though she made some ridiculous moves like the one that sent Erin home, she wasn't afraid to make moves and made two that worked now. I'm thinking that right now, I'm probably not even going to receive a vote at final tribal council unless I come up with some brilliant angle to showcase the genius of my game. 100%, if I go into final tribal council, I will put my all into it and come up with an angle for why I deserve to win. Even if it's filled with lies about my philosophy and my approach is to criticize Joanna and do something crazy like make Helen mad and lose her focus, which I think I could possibly do. Because if I just say, "I was 100% loyal to Helen, didn't make a move on my own, and was loyal to my original alliance" then I'm going to be annihilated.
I have like no time anymore, and I feel really bad about that because I was expecting to do a lot more in this game, but I still don't feel bad about making a move that would eliminate a great winner like Christy or Helen. It's just a matter of when for each, and that's something I need to think about over the next hour or so.
