>>>>Cast Ranking<<<<First, I want to start by saying the bulk of this cast was perfectly casted. From Brian, to Helen and Jake to Jan, as a large fan of some of these characters, I can truly say they embodied a lot about what makes them memorable on the show. So, brilliant job overall on the casting, Jeff. I had my issues with this cast at first because I always love a balance between drama and strategy. This was strictly a strategic season, and it provided some great strategic blunders and incredible moves. I enjoyed how different his season was from the rest and I think that it will grow on people because of it. It may have not been an epic hot mess, chaos battle like Zambia, but it was barely ever predictable. What more can you ask?
Now for the ranking:
16.Ryan, for me, was mostly a miss. He didn't really provide much in terms of entertainment and had we done edgic, he would likely have an INV/UTR1 edit up until his eventual blindside. I felt like he was completely unaware of his position the entire time he was playing, made little effort, even when he was in danger. I can't really remember a single moment that Ryan stood out for me and I think that's largely his fault. As soon as he was eliminated, he seemed to be enjoying himself more in the LL than he did in the game. I don't really think he has it in him to play this game but I do appreciate him sticking around and making the Loser Lodge an active place.
15.For some reason, Jeff is a fan of Butch, and I can't really think of why? He was pretty naive, possibly coming across as a bit slow to his fellow tribemates which likely cost him the game? He was one of the few inactive-ish players in the beginning and decided to share with everyone that he had to play from his cell?
He was probably the most straight-forward boot in the entire game, so I can't really say his boot was entertaining or anything. I loved the horribly bitchy comments from Christy and Princess Joanna about him though, so that's why he ranks higher than Ryan. He's definitely more memorable because he provided some laughs.
14.Daniel never really did much for me, even when he made a move for himself. He was pretty arrogant for someone in a terrible position on Asteria. He never provided any source of entertainment, or even bothered to argue back when Rob confronted him. He just seemed there, and had basically no presence. I wish he gave the game more, because he had a strategic side to him that came out when the merge happened. I just think he was overshadowed by the large number of "sharks", overall. His blindside was pretty epic though and possibly one of the best of the season.
13.I want Ken to give ORGs another shot in the future because I do think his strategy was viable. I don't think his execution was the best, especially considering the sabotage twist, but it's mostly from a lack of practice. He is a smart player, and someone who is passionate about the game. I would like if it ever did return to ORGs, to allow himself to develop more of a personality. He was very robotic and cold, which always turns people off in the long run. I think he forgot that he was playing with real people. He was very active in the LL, which I obviously appreciate.
12. Jeanne somehow managed to make herself the underdog despite having like 2 extra days with Joanna/Christy/Rob and a bland tribe, featuring people like Ryan and Daniel.
She was so negative, I still laugh at the fact that she took a clue on the first day, despite having only 3 people show up and how she promised she'd be conniving. It just never panned out for her because she was so awful with everyone.
I do think that her blindside was a terrible, terrible decision and likely cost the Asteria's the game. I get why she is so popular amongst the hosts, I just don't share those feelings much.
11. First of all, I appreciate Rob. He was one of the few emotional players in this game and I appreciate all the drama and moves he tried to make. He's like a poor man's Ted, and his gameplay was absolutely embarrassing, but I loved every minute of it. He's basically the Jason Siska of Stranded, and I can't help but love him for it. First, his decision to jump ships was completely unnecessary, then, he decides to make an alliance with obvious threats, Brian & Helen, and believe that they were feuding with Penny & Erin. What? Isn't Rob a vet of this game?
Rob was so shockingly naive and like Joanna said, it was embarrassing. His attitude was awful, which made for a great lulzy villain, but I always found myself rooting against him. His blindside was epic but he still screwed over his alliance too many times to count, so it's hard to love him, when I actually like Christy/Joanna.
10. Shawna, the sweetheart who overplayed her cards and went way too early.
She was just starting to become a player, and she was ultimately screwed over by the horrendous decision to boot Jeanne. Seriously, what were they thinking? At times, I loved Shawna and other times, I was indifferent to her. I just don't think she made as much of an impact on me as I would've liked. Her blindside was the first in a long chain of epic blindsides but it is often overshadowed by all the rest. I would love to see her play more ORGs and get some practice because she definitely has a good social game.
9. I hate putting Erin this low, because I think she was a great character. Even when I always ranked her the lowest of the Helios, I still loved her and was absolutely devastated when she was blindsided. I think she had a great storyline; she was loyal, honorable, naive and sweet. She started off as a lulzy delusional strategic mastermind and quickly grew into a threat, and I appreciate her for that. She was a fighter, she was passionate about the game and she ultimately went too early. Her blindside was great, and I think she will be remembered for quite a long time. I really hope she continues playing, because she would do so well with more practice.
Penny+Erin = win
8. Can I just say how disappointed I am that Brian fell so short? He had so much potential, and I loved him pre-merge. He just let himself become bland and boring and didn't bother to fix things. He kept making excuses about not having much of a social game or having no impact on the boards, and I kept holding some hope that he would step it up, but he didn't? I understand not being able to make a move on Helen, because he really had no chance, but that doesn't mean you have to have absolutely coma inducing PMs and confessionals. Where was the fire and entertainment I saw before?
He ranks this high because at the end of the day, I still like Brian, but he will always be the biggest disappointment in this cast.
7. Jan is entertainment gold. I still can't tell if she was playing a shtick or not. If she wasn't, then she just might be the funniest player I've ever seen. She had a big heart, she was an underdog and her confessionals were so incredibly stupid and hilarious, you just couldn't help but love her. Her challenge performances were pitiful and provided some of the funniest moments of the season that I will cover later. She'll always have a place in my heart and I still am not over her boot.
6. Christy was possibly a host favorite for the longest time, but I was never really a huge fan. She was cunty in the beginning and I love her confessionals, she just didn't ever come out as an HBIC. Her onboard presence was bland and cunty, and while she had a Sophie-like vibe to me, it just didn't register well without seeing her actual reactions. Sometimes she seemed bored, and while that was funny, it didn't give me much. I started really liking Christy around the final 9, when she promised she'd come out swinging but it never happened. Her star moment was when she correctly played the idol and blindsided Erin, almost saving her alliance (lol Rob) and taking over the game.
5. Most of you probably don't remember Jake or didn't appreciate him that much, but I definitely did. I loved Jake and I was so pissed and bitter about his blindside because I think he could've been amazing had he made it longer. As many know, I'm a huge fan of emotional players. His bitter vote for Helen? Priceless. His big heart reminds me of myself and had he made it longer, I definitely think he could've stirred up some trouble. He wasn't afraid to make decisions that suited himself and I appreciated that about him. He just left too early
4. lol @ her massive PMs. Helen completely and absolutely deserves to win this game. She dominated so damn much. She was so obviously a threat and NO ONE did anything about it. She had a great social game, she was very strong at challenges and was never afraid to make it known that she was playing to win. How the hell did she get to the final 3?
She needs to come back for a future season and I'm so happy she came out of ORG retirement. She is a fascinating player and someone to look out for.
3. I knew as soon as Lisi suggested using players from Aussie Stranded that Penny absolutely to be casted. I sent Lisi PMs through sucks, and kept annoying Jeff to make sure that Penny was given a shot because she's a star. She had the best confessionals in the game, she was the most charismatic player to watch and sometimes the most frustrating. Had she been in a different cast, her emotional and confrontational side would've better come out, which I love. I think she was everything I had hoped she would be, she just fell a bit short in the end and it's likely going to cost her.
So happy she had better success in this series than the Aussie: Stranded though.
2. Ugh, I just WISH she had been more into it. I know that's her shtick and everything but had she allowed her overly bitchy attitude to spill into the main boards and had people picked up on her condescending attitude through PMs, we could've had some great showdowns. Problem was, no one even realized how much of a bitch she really was. Her PMs with people = hilarious. Her whiny, OTT confessionals about quitting and thinking everyone is stupid = hilarious. She was surprisingly very accurate when it came to reading people and I think if she gave herself more credit, we could've seen her do more. That's why she just fell short of me because she didn't do anything after the merge.
1.Possibly the only person casted that I don't agree with. Ted is nothing like the real Ted and for the longest time, my disdain for the real Ted held be back from appreciating Stranded Ted. He should've been Rob using the cast from this season. Anyways, Ted is Stranded: Greece. Ted caused so much crap, so many blindsides and flipping. He gave us so many unexpected moments and you cannot help but love the guy. Ted is the star of Stranded in Greece and I don't think anyone will disagree with me.
>>>>Taj's favorite moments<<<<Helen the living encyclopediaYes, I consider this a moment because of how many times it was talked about throughout the season. Brian and I talked after a game we had previously played together and I remember how much a despised his long ass PMs. The fanfic of this season needs to include the laughs brought on by the horror that is
Helen's super, massive long ass PMs from hell.
Brian wrote:
These insanely large PMs are giving me a headache. Helen is too much.
Brian wrote:
That's something I'll sleep on tonight, but when I wake up, Helen will have already sent me 20 paragraphs detailing the whole situation.
The long ass PMs need to be included in the fanfic as it is an important part of the Brian and Helen relationship. Also, I just want to see how many times Brian mentions hating receiving PMs from her.
JanYes, everything Jan did = Gold.
Best Jan quotes:
Jan wrote:
But because we won the challenge, i dont need to vote anyone out right?
and this gem from the challenge
Quote:
Jan: Who know's what Jan might be?
Ken: Jan could be sloth.
Jan: lol i could be sloth. Ted-Gluttony?
Brian: Ted's sitting out and wasn't picked.
**
Erin: Envy guys, work on envy
Jan: maybe Ted?
**
Jan:: is gluttery next
Jake: is it brian for greed?
Brian: Are we doing me (Brian) for Greed?
Jan: i think Ted, or was he already an answer?
Brian: Ted's not a part of the challenge.
Ken: Ted is not eligable
Jan wrote:
Actually my vote wasn't suppose to go to Ted, it was actually for Ken. I was in a bit of a rush to get the vote over with that i confused there names together
Jan wrote:
but if i had to vote someone it will be between Brian or Ted, but i guess Ted will still be on the other tribe or no?
The Bitches of EastwickShort lived alliance, really but gold nonetheless. Words cannot begin to describe how awful Joanna and Christy were in PMs and I'm sure Brenda has them compiled somewhere. One of my favorite moments of the season was when Joanna and Christy finally came together and started bashing everyone via PMing.
This caused them to form some unbreakable bitch bond or something.
Ted's super awesome mutiny plan and Helios' reactionBasically, this is what happened:
Quote:
Ted: Hey guys, I have the idol and I took the clues that sabotaged our tribe, umad?
Penny: OMG
Jan: Thar was an idol?
Ted: but I think I'm going to mutiny
Penny: BRILLiant, we can blindside Rob!!
Erin: Yay!
Jake: Yay!
Helen:
Brian:
Penny: OMG I'm a genius!!!
Did I mention that this all started because Ted got paranoid for a typing error? Yup.
Daniel's awful social gameCan be defined in possibly my favorite PM in the history of ORGs, ever.

It's weird that you're Joanna but you're so obviously a dude IRL.Joanna:
Hah really? I'm a girl IRL....
I just got my hair done yesterday, it's the lightest i have ever had it.Daniel:
ROFL SORRY.
You type like a guy I guess. I wonder if the hosts matched our sexes up with the players we're representing?Joanna:
hah Co0oo0oL that's the first time i've ever heard that. ^.^
And IDK i just knew that I was only going to play a gurl. I'd feel weird not. >>>>Characters that need to come back in a future season<<<<For an All-Stars season,
Helen,
Penny and obviously
Ted are all great choices. I think all three would bring something special and unique. While I do like Joanna, her heart wasn't in it enough and I felt like Christy just doesn't stand out as much as I would've liked.
Second Chances, Jake & Christy. Reasoning for Christy in a second chances, is because she had potential the first time around, we just didn't get to see enough. Jake, obviously, because he's the best, and if awful casting choices like Michelle, PG, Chet, James and Joel can make a second chances, I can't see why he couldn't.
